Posted Sat May 19 2007 4:18pm Post subject My Flowers!! Please show me yours!!!. Here are my flowers which came this week!! I had such hassle trying to get the right flowers! My one true Bridezilla moment. My dress is a suzanne vidal (maggie sottero) and I really love the detail on the front of the dress - I didn't want to plonk a massive bouquet in the front of it and overpower it! I decided on a wrist corsage, but it was hard to find a 'bridal' wrist corsage that wouldn't be either too small and insignificant, or too large and showy. I also had big trouble with choosing a colour for flowers in general as my 'theme' is silver and midnight blue - not to easiest to match flowers with. I wanted something light and summery to stop the whole thing looking too wintery, but it did my head in trying to pick a colour that would go with my dress and the bridesmaid's dresses. I love orchids and Iillies but most of the artificial orchids were just too garishly yellow and burgundy, most of the Lilies were well.. Just too plastic! Anyway, eventually I knew exactly what I wanted so I decided to have them custom made! The lady who made them is Jackie Morville (based in Cheshire in the UK) and I can't recommend her highly enough. I met her at a wedding fair in Manchester, and was really impressed with her quality of flowers (especially the Iillies, best artificial ones I've ever seen). She was so warm and so professional at the same time, and worked really hard to get exactly what I wanted keeping in regular contact via email - sending me photos of the flower samples etc. We had a good giggle about what weddings can do to otherwise rational woman! They came on Wednesday and are lovely. I was especially excited to see that the designs she custom made for me are now available for general purchase.
